Lots of Corvette Show Stuff going on in August, starting in Oxford, MI
CelebrateOxford! Oxford’s best summer party kicks off the first Saturday of August with something for everyone –a Taste of Oxford, live entertainment, the business expo, Kids Town and helicopter rides. It’s all in Downtown Oxford. But for car enthusiasts from all overOaklandCounty, it is the first of many auto events through the month of August.
The Corvette and Classic Car Show August 6th is one of the highlights of Celebrate Oxford, on the southwest corner of Washington (M24) and Burdick. Oxford Rotary and North Oaks Corvette Club invite hot rods and customs, Corvettes, Mustangs and Challengers, cruisers and show cars to a casual Saturday car show with classes for stock and modified cars, old and new. Entrants and patrons vote on “People’s Choice” and “Best of Show” winners. Enjoy refreshments on the patio at 24th Street Sports Tavern, shop for arts and crafts, or enjoy a short walk to the food tent and local restaurants. The show ends at three, but Celebrate Oxford goes on late into the night. Stick around and enjoy theVillage ofOxford. More information at http://www.celebrateoxford.com
Then polish up fiberglass for Corvettes America, Michigan’s largest all-Corvette show. The 11th anniversary show will be held at Alpine Valley Ski Resort, about 10 miles west of Pontiac on August 13th. This charity show is put on by Americas Corvette Club, and typically draws interest from all over the country. Chevrolet Corvette staff members usually bring out something special, and this year it will be a 2012 preview. There is additional information at www.corvettesamerica.org
And don’t miss Corvettes On Woodward August 17th.
